Cambodian government units committed significant human rights abuses last
year, according to the U.S. Department of State in its newly released 2020
human rights report. Government officials said that Cambodia prioritises
“peace, political stability and social order” to strengthen the rule of law,
while defending human rights in the Kingdom, following a critical report
from the United States Department of State.
The Government of Malaysia has brought COVID-19 medical supplies to
Cambodia to help in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 which were
transported by a Royal Malaysian Air Force C130 transport.

A total of 700,000 doses of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine donated by China
are expected to arrive in Cambodia on March 31 with 400,000 to be
administered by the Ministry of Health and 300,000 by the Ministry of

The World Health Organization (WHO) has called on governments including
Cambodia to secure the disposal or destruction of used and empty vaccine
vials to prevent re-use by criminal groups for selling fake COVID-19
vaccines which have been recorded in some countries.
