The former Khmer National Liberation Front (KNLF) has changed its name to
“The Khmer National People Party” (KNPP) in order to compete in the upcoming
general election in Cambodia, according to its president.

Recent communication between former Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP)
leader Kem Sokha, who has been barred from political activities while
awaiting trial on treason charge, and Grassroots Democratic Party (GDP)
leader Yang Saing Koma could result in further legal woes.
Despite a call to drop the charges against three prominent activists of the
court-dissolved Cambodia National Recuse Party (CNRP) who recently defected
to the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), government officials said
their charges could remain with a sentence reduction.
