Police in Banteay Meanchey province’s Malai district in collaboration with
provincial border military forces arrested two men for attempting to
illegally smuggle 25 people across the border into Thailand to work.
Cambodia’s National Committee Against Torture is promising to investigate
the death in custody of a young detainee whose body was returned to his
family bearing signs of physical assault, including injuries to his head and
a broken neck, family members say.
