Former senior officials of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue
Party (CNRP) have hit back against exiled ex-CNRP leaders who have accused
them of pushing the Kingdom’s democracy backwards over requests for
“political rehabilitation”.

With the Commune Council Election approaching, the two royalist parties
Funcinpec and Khmer National United Party (KNUP) are committed to merging
before then to challenge the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).

The newly formed Cambodia Reform Party (CRP) is lobbying former CNRP
officials as well as other opposition parties to join forces in the hopes of
making the CRP a credible opposition ahead of next year’s commune elections,
