A new political party born out of the court-dissolved Cambodia National
Rescue Party (CNRP) has emerged and joined the political arena with other
nascent parties amid elections approaching, a move seen as apparent division
among the former opposition.
The newly created Cambodia National Heart Party is under pressure to reveal
the identities of the party president and founding members and their
backgrounds before it gets approval from the Ministry of Interior.
The Supreme Court has dissolved three political parties for violating the
Law on Political Parties after a complaint was made by the Ministry of
Interior ahead of the upcoming elections.
