Kem Sokha, former president of the Supreme Court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), has again denied involvement with any individual party or political movement that linked his name to their activities. He said those parties did so to serve their own interests.

After a long wait following the years of negotiation between two royalist parties – Funcinpec and Khmer National United Party (KNUP) – are set to merge under a one-party flag to challenge the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) in elections. Both parties’ senior officials have confirmed the effort is complete and they are expected to hold a congress late this month for the unification.
