The 5th mandate Commune Council Election will be held on June 5, 2022. A total of 17 political parties are registered to compete with 84,208 candidates running for commune council seats so far. The two biggest political parties in the upcoming commune election have just 26 and 23 percent women candidates, continuing a struggle to field more women for political positions in the country.
