Since December of last year, former employees at NagaWorld have been regularly protesting for the reinstatement of about 200 workers, including top unionists, following mass layoffs of more than 1,300 workers due to the impacts of Covid-19 on the company’s budget as stated by NagaCorp. Ten days of voting for the leadership of the NagaWorld union ended with exactly 1,000 voters and current president Chhim Sithar re-elected, a unionist said.
