Following the filing of a lawsuit against human rights group ADHOC's spokesman, Soeng Senkaruna, for allegedly defaming the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), civil society groups are hoping for a fair resolution from the court and calling for closer cooperation with the government to promote and improve human rights in the country.
More than 100 garment workers at Shengbo Garment Factory Ltd in Kampong Speu province protested, demanding the reinstatement of two workers, who were fired after their election as union leaders in the factory.
