The EU Delegation in Cambodia decided to provide around $847,863.75 to support the new project “Strengthening civil society for democratic and sustainable development in Cambodia Phase II” aiming to help civil society collaborate with the government in making laws and policies.;
A group of 85 civil society organisations (CSOs)and associations have asked the government to release representatives of land communities and other forest, natural resource and environment activists who have all recently been detained.;
A group of civil society organisations (CSOs) have called on the government, relevant ministries and institutions to provide assistance for street vendors in urban areas and improve their social protection.;
Cambodia has released 26 political, environmental and youth activists facing charges of incitement against the government in November 2021, which human rights groups said was a positive step but that many more remained incarcerated.;
After having served in prison for more than a year and being released recently, activists Rong Chhun and Soung Sophorn are not giving up on their fight for people to have their democracy and human rights and among others to have freedom of expression.;
Dozens of families in a Kandal village have been marked for eviction to develop Phnom Penh’s new international airport, and have petitioned Prime Minister Hun Sen complaining of the state’s compensation offer that they say is a mere 10th of market prices.;
