Around 60 Cambodians have been caught illegally crossing the border into Thailand, while more than 2,100 Cambodian migrant workers so far have returned home following the COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand’s Samut Sakhon Province, a Cambodian official said.
Workers in the informal sector are singing for support, with the release of a song last week that says they’ve been ignored during the COVID-19 pandemic and pleads for financial assistance from the government.
LAND grabs and encroachment on protected forest are becoming more rampant in northern Cambodia, said environmental activists.
