Some 1,000 workers of Chinese-owned Y&W Garment in Phnom Penh continue to block the road in protest, demanding that the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training pay “repair of damage” on top of compensation, seeing that the owner ran away. Six factories from Special Economic Zone of Royal Group along national road 4 in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district immediately recruited 340 workers of Y &W factory to work in the factories.

Issuing a clarification on the suicide of a woman in Preah Vihear, the provincial administration said that she took the extreme step due to family dispute and not because her land was confiscated, as alleged by some on social media.
More than 2,000 workers of R.G Footwear in Kandal province are worried about losing their jobs after the factory they worked in was destroyed by fire on Tuesday. They hope that the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training will find a solution so that they have a job regardless of the factory’s continuity.
