Election bodies have resolved 245 complaints about this month’s commune elections, about 80 percent of which were from the Candlelight Party, the National Election Committee (NEC) says.
Civil society have urged the National Election Committee (NEC) to address its displeasure with Candlelight Party over allegations of vote rigging through dialogue and clarification instead of NEC seeking redress through the court.
National Election Committee (NEC) has released the official results of the June 5 commune council election results, showing that more than 7.39 million voters, or 80.32 per cent of those registered, cast ballots in the polls, and that nine of the 17 participating political parties won at least one contested seat.
