The National Election Committee (NEC) has spoken highly of the first two days of the two-week campaign for the 5th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council Election which went smoothly with security, safety and good order and without violence. The NEC said about 50,000 people from five popular parties have participated in the first three days of the Commune Election campaign in the capital. The NEC recorded 18 complaints regarding the election campaigns across the country with most of them coming from the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) against the opposition.
