The National Election Committee (NEC) is to start accepting registrations for political parties and candidates from March 7-11 in preparation for the upcoming municipal, provincial, town, and district elections on Sunday, May 26. Interior Minister Sar Kheng has instructed provincial authorities to ensure that the five-day registration process for political parties and their candidates wishing to contest the sub-national election goes smoothly. Despite of this procedure, political parties have no their own party commune councilors, they may not register to contest the election.
