Nearly 1,500 workers at the lamp-producing Sheng Yao factory in Svay Rieng province’s Svay Teab district have gone on strike after claiming their wages were docked after taking three days off to vote in the national election last month.

Around 170 workers held a protest on Wednesday by blocking the road and grabbing equipment from their factory in Kandal province’s Sa’ang district after the owner failed to pay their wages.
