The 2021 Golden Dragon Military Exercise, conducted jointly between Cambodia and China, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic  in Cambodia taking up so much of the soldiers’ energy.

Chinese ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian said on February 3 that the first 600,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines donated by China to the Kingdom would arrive in Phnom Penh by special aircraft this weekend.

United States Ambassador Patrick Murphy met with Minister of Justice Keut Rith  to discuss anti-human trafficking efforts, law enforcement cooperation and protecting freedoms granted in the Cambodian constitution. The Ministry of Environment and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) on January 30 launched the First Protection Area Monitoring Platform (PAMP) in Preah Vihear province to monitor forestry crimes including forest land clearing for private ownership and illegal hunting in natural protected areas.

The Australian government announced on February 1 that it has provided a grant of $28 million for the rollout of Covid-19 vaccines approved by World Health Organisation (WHO) for 1.5 million Cambodians.
