Prime Minister Hun Sen, in his capacity as ASEAN chair this year, leaded a delegation to attend and co-chair the ASEAN-US Special Summit in Washington from May 12-13, held to commemorate 45 years of relations and dialogue partnership. During staying in DC, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that he did not accuse the United States of conspiring with Kem Sokha to overthrow the Cambodian government, claiming that Kem Sokha himself was the one who spoke through the controversial video that went viral. Cambodia does not allow foreign troops to be stationed on its territory, the government has assured the US over claimed plans for Chinese forces to use Ream Naval Base.

The US Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Feed the Future Cambodia Harvest II project has generated $28 million in new private sector investments, created more than 2,500 jobs, supported the development of 17 government agricultural policies and helped horticultural businesses and producers generate over $75 million worth of incremental sales over the past five years.
