The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has decided to provide approximately $58 million in concessional loan to the Royal Government of Cambodia for a project to expand water supply capacity in Siem Reap province.;
The Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Anzac with a crew of 158 began a three-day visit to Preah Sihanouk province on October 18-20 to reinforce Australia’s commitment to assisting Cambodia with bilateral military operations.;
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has released a survey of new buildings and a road in Ream Naval Base in Cambodia showing that construction is continuing “amid concerns that the new facilities are being built to facilitate a Chinese military presence in Cambodia.”;
Cambodia Defence Minister General Tea Banh and Malaysian Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein held an in-depth discussion recently on strengthening the bilateral relations between the militaries of both countries.;
Plan International Cambodia has announced its new country strategy for the next five years to strategically partner to empower 2.5 million girls, especially adolescent girls and young women, in the Kingdom from 2021 to 2026.;
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung and Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Soeung Rathchavy co-chaired the seventh Vietnam-Cambodia political consultation via videoconference on October 21 to discuss bilateral ties as well as regional and global issues of shared concern.;
Exports to the US from Cambodia rose by 23 percent between 2019 and 2020, but the Ministry of Commerce is urging the US to consider granting Cambodia access to the GSP trading scheme.;
The Russian Embassy gave humanitarian aid to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital together with Russian BioBuilding Co and Cambodian companies eBiodis, Leisure Asia Corporation, SGU Import Export Co Ltd and Cambodia-Russian Trade House.;
