The US House of Representatives in Washington, DC, passed the “HR 526 Cambodia Democracy Act”, also known as the Cambodia Democracy Act of 2019.

The government yesterday slammed the US House of Representatives for passing the Cambodia Democracy Act of 2019, a bill aimed at applying travel and financial sanctions to individuals “undermining democracy” in the Kingdom.

Relations between Cambodia and the European Union remain stable, despite the possible suspension of the Kingdom’s Everything-but-arms trade status. Outgoing EU Ambassador George Edgar speaks to Khmer Times Editor-in-Chief Cheang Sokha about EU projects with the government, trade, the Khmer Rouge tribunal and the EBA.
