US Department of State assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel J. Kritenbrink expressed the US’ willingness to work more closely with Cambodia on strengthening bilateral cooperation, during his call on Prime Minister Hun Manet on February 26.
The recent docking of two Japanese destroyers in Cambodia helped strengthen cooperation between the two nations’ navies, especially in maritime rescue operations and the enforcement of maritime law, such as those banning the trafficking of humans or drugs.
Thailand’s ruling Pheu Thai Party President Paetongtarn Shinawatra is scheduled to visit Cambodia from March 18 to 19 in response to an invitation by Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).
