Prime Minister Hun Sen had a telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Wednesday to discuss their diplomatic relationship and joint efforts in fighting Covid-19, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.;;;

Team Europe – the combined efforts of the EU, its member states and their financial institutions and implementing agencies – is mobilising €443 million ($503 million) in grants and loans to work with Cambodia in fighting Covid-19 and mitigating its socio-economic impacts.;;;

The Swedish government announced today it will cease providing development assistance, starting from July 1, and will redirect its focus to human rights, democracy and the rule of law.;;

The Republic of Korea has said that it has made further progress in fleshing out details for the planned free trade agreement (FTA) with Cambodia as Seoul seeks to broaden economic ties with Southeast Asian nations and diversify its export portfolio.;

The government of Germany provided a $14.6 million grant aid to Cambodia to support various social development interventions in the nation.;

The trade volume between Cambodia and U.S. has reached $2.1 billion in the first four months of the year which goes up to 29.31 percent compared to the same period of 2019 which was shared by the U.S Trade Bureau. Cambodian Human Rights Committee president Keo Remy has claimed that the Kingdom has full “freedom of expression” and pointed to “racism” in the US after the death of African-American George Floyd at the hands of police.;;

The third round of negotiations for the free trade agreement between Cambodia and China has completely solved all the remaining issues in the agreement text and approved in principal with regard to market access on goods and services, according to a statement from ministry of commerce.;

Authorities in Vietnam’s An Giang province have invited their Kandal provincial counterparts to conduct a joint inspection at the un-demarcated border areas where Vietnamese soldiers have set up tents. Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng  criticised Vietnam for its claims based on a local news report that a Vietnamese youth who tested positive for Covid-19 had come from Cambodia.;;

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights MichelleBachelet in a report published by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, expressed herconcern over human rights violations, particularly on the freedom of speech, in Cambodia and some other countries in the Asia-Pacific during the virus health crisis.;
