Cambodian opposition leader Kem Sokha has been released on bail and placed under house arrest after spending more than a year in prison on widely decried treason charges. https://bit.ly/2N3mPV5; https://bit.ly/2x1pB2P; https://bit.ly/2x2V7wE; https://bit.ly/2OaYI3j; https://bit.ly/2Mh2uGh; https://bbc.in/2MmhhzP; https://bit.ly/2Mbkkut; https://bit.ly/2QlpoiX;  https://bit.ly/2oYQMqN; https://dailym.ai/2CHh76k; https://dailym.ai/2O7VayG; https://cnn.it/2Mhalnn; https://bit.ly/2QlRqLh;

Lawyers for bailed opposition leader Kem Sokha said on Tuesday that they will seek clarification as to the conditions applied to his release – which they have compared to house arrest due to their perceived stringency – saying one, in particular, is worryingly “subject to interpretation”.

Cambodia released opposition leader Kem Sokha on bail Monday, a year after he was arrested on treason charges widely seen as politically motivated, but critics said he should never have been arrested and called for his banned party to be reinstated.

The investigating judge has summonsed land activist Sar Sorn from Borei Keila for questioning in connection with Kem Sokha’s alleged treason case.

Former Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) president Sam Rainsy missed a court date again on Thursday after having done so on July 12 as well.
