The Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC) said that in the spirit of human rights being universal and indivisible, Cambodia remains committed to working closely with all relevant UN Human Rights mechanisms to uphold the promotion and protection of human rights for all.
The Supreme Court upheld the conviction of two former soldiers and a woman who were convicted by the lower court to eight years in prison each in connection with attempting to smuggle 50 grenades and more than a 1,000 rounds of AK-47 bullets and two pistols from Cambodia to Thailand last year.
Phnom Penh Municipal Court questioned two Boeng Tamok community members who were charged in May with assaulting Prek Pnov district authorities. Around 30 people gathered outside the court during the three-and-a-half-hour hearing, many to support the community members charged.
