A former deputy chief of the Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Drug Police Department and six other police officers were charged and jailed by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for allegedly arresting, and detaining eight Chinese nationals, and demanding $100,000 from them in exchange for their release.
The Phnom Penh Municipal Court charged two Thai men and three Laotian men accused of allegedly possessing and transporting more than 100 kilogrammes of methamphetamine from Laos to Cambodia.
