Keo Remy, Senior Minister and Chairman of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), has defended the arrest of more than 60 activists opposing the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA) project, stating that the detentions were based on concrete evidence and were necessary to maintain public order and national security.

The Supreme Court upheld the convictions of the President of the Independent Democracy of Informal Economy Association (IDEA) and nine others who had tried to clear their names after serving their sentences for inciting garment workers to demonstrate and attack military forces in Phnom Penh in 2014.
