The government has come up with a subsidy scheme to help longan farmers in Battambang and Palin provinces to overcome their inability to export their fruits to Thailand following China placing an indefinite ban on Thai longan over contamination with mealybugs.

The government has suspended the recruitment of new officials for all ministries and institutions for 2022, reversing the government’s previous plans to recruit some 6,000 new officials to replace those lost to retirement or other factors.
