The government has issued a decision establishing an inter-ministerial
committee to study and prepare legal standards regarding the title of Oknha
— an honorific bestowed on those who have made significant contributions to
national development — with provisions that allow for the official
revocation of the title.
With coronavirus still rearing its ugly head in the community, the
government has allocated about $613,000 to 22 provinces, to implement
measures to stop the spread of the virus.
Prime Minister Hun Sen has stated that the withdrawal of the ‘Everything
But Arms’ (EBA) preferential trade scheme by the EU has had no impact on
Cambodia’s economic recovery in the context of Covid-19.
