Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Wednesday that the country's economy is expected to grow by 7 percent in 2019 despite the ongoing threat of trade sanctions from the European Union. He announced on Wednesday that factory workers will have access to legal representation free of charge once his volunteer group of his lawyers is established, while civil society groups say the government should instead improve labor law enforcement.

Minister of Interior Sar Kheng on Wednesday ordered provincial administration officials and the armed forces to be ready to prevent and intercept all activities by outlawed and (self) exiled groups that attempt to push Cambodia into war and chaos. The implementation of the national strategic plan on identification has stalled due to the current political situation and election tasks, Minister of Interior Sar Kheng has said.

The Ministry of Justice on  reacted to recent “baseless” claims by the US Embassy in Phnom Penh regarding the case of former opposition leader Kem Sokha, urging the embassy to stop spreading misinformation regarding the implementation of the law in Cambodia.
