Cambodia is gearing up for mass inoculations against the Covid-19 virus, with China providing the first million doses while India has been asked to bolster future supplies and Australia has promised “safe and effective” access to vaccines. Prime Minister Hun Sen on Jan. 22 instructed the Ministry of Health to compile a list of people who would like to be vaccinated when the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine developed in China is delivered to the Cambodian authorities next month. Prime Minister Hun Sen has also asked the Indian government to provide vaccine assistance to Cambodia.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has instructed municipal and provincial governors across the country to take measures against any individuals who build fences that encroach on state land and affect public interests in their localities.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn on January 18 announced the launch of the “Economic Diplomacy Strategy (EDS) for 2021-2023” as a framework for future diplomatic and cultural initiatives.
