Cambodia has signed a number of agreements during Prime Minister Hun Sen’s attendance at the annual Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, including the Action Plans of Shared Future and the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation under Grant Aid.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Friday that Cambodia would not fall into a so-called debt trap as it embraces China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as the Kingdom only accepted projects beneficial to the country.

Prime Minister Hun Sen  left for Hanoi to attend the funeral of former Vietnamese president Le Duc Anh who led Vietnamese forces to overthrow Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime.

Prime Minister Hun Sen unofficially  announced reforms stipulating that only the Minister of National Defence and the commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) will be allowed to hold the rank of four-star general.
