The government is allocating $100 million from the national budget to renovate wastewater treatment systems and roads in Preah Sihanouk province’s Sihanoukville following floods that struck the city last month.
Environment Ministry spokesman Neth Pheaktra reiterated earlier government statements that 83 shipping containers packed with plastic refuse and left at the Sihanoukville port since last year came from the U.S. and Canada — despite Canada saying that the containers weren’t theirs.
