The Royal Government of Cambodia’s call for financial contributions to fund infrastructure development in the northeastern provinces, focusing on a border ring road, has garnered significant support from citizens, government officials, and businessmen that included the names of six banks where people could send money. It was unclear what infrastructure projects would be funded by the foundation. The provinces – Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri – are thinly populated.
