The Ministry of Information has issued an ultimatum to more than 800 “journalists” who are alleged to have accepted monetary gifts from a casino in Takeo province.
The Ministry of Information has asked all journalists to use only those official press ID cards issued by the Ministry in a move to avoid fraudulent journalism and to keep track of professional identification data.
Cambodian Journalists Alliance Association (CamboJA) has released a report on the restrictions to digital rights and freedom of expression in Cambodia, noting that the government is monitoring journalists and citizens who exercise their right on the internet.
