It has been one year since Cambodia’s economy and labour force has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, but despite some hope sparked by the vaccine programmes, Vorn Pao, president of the Independent Democracy of Informal Economy Association (IDEA), said things have gotten worse for the workers in the Kingdom’s informal economy. Pao said something must be done quickly to prevent this from becoming a social crisis.
