Phnom Penh Autonomous Port’s (PPAP) net profit climbed 50 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $4.3 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2Q’25) from $2.9 million, while revenue rose 14 percent to $11.7 million a year ago, according to its delayed filing with Cambodia Securities Exchange on Tuesday. http://bit.ly/3IIBnY6; As of this morning, October 2, the number of Cambodian provinces affected by heavy rain and flooding had increased to 11. More than 30,000 families and over 10,000 hectares of rice fields are currently impacted. http://bit.ly/4pPKtTx; The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has revised Cambodia’s economic growth forecast downward, noting a projected decline of 4.9 per cent in 2025 and 5 per cent for 2026, down from earlier estimates of 6.1 per cent and 6.2 per cent, respectively. The downgrade reflects mounting global uncertainties, geopolitical tensions with Thailand and an unfavourable trade policy for exports to the US.
