Amid controversy over a future leader of the royalist Funcinpec party after the death of its president Prince Norodom Ranariddh, Princess Norodom Arunrasmy has finally withdrawn her involvement. The extraordinary congress of FUNCINPEC has unanimously elected Prince Norodom Chakravuth as party president. He will follow in the footsteps of his father, the late Prince Norodom Ranariddh.
