Political Party (11st – 15th September, 2023)
Six members of Cambodia’s opposition Candlelight Party, or CLP, remained in police custody after they were detained for collecting members in support of a new political party.
The Ministry of Interior has rejected an application to set up the Khmer Puppet Party.
The Ministry said the application was disallowed because founder Em Sok Sovann had not followed procedures.
