According to a decision signed by Prince Ranariddh, the party sacked vice-presidents, Heng Chantha, Say Hak, and also Phann Sithy, the party’s deputy secretary-general, because they were adamant to merge with Nhek Bun Chhay’s KNUP. The decision led to a lawsuit at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court after Nhalivuth overturned it and considered the move as violating the party’s administrative procedures.

Two days ahead of the officers’ arrival, Kheang, a ruling party CPP working group member and a Phnom Penh resident, posted at least two videos raising serious allegations against Land Management Minister Sophara. Kheang was arrested sent to the National Police and then to the court.
