The ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) will hold a General Assembly to approve its lawmaker candidate list for the upcoming National Election, adding “new blood” and committing to submit the list on the first day of the opening registration date set by the National Election Committee (NEC).;

Prime Minister Hun Sen lashed out at Sorn Dara, a former official of court-dissolved CNRP, for making “insulting comparisons” against him and his son Lieutenant General Hun Manet, the future Prime Minister candidate for Cambodian People’s Party.;

Ahead of the March 3 verdict in Kem Sokha treason case, opposition leaders started heated debates about whether to associate with the former president of court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP).;

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen is continuing efforts to compel political opposition figures to back his ruling Cambodian People’s Party ahead of general elections in July. Prime Minister Hun Sen has stated that he refuses to accept a letter of apology from Son Chhay, Vice President of the Candlelight Party, who accused the CPP of “stealing votes” after the 5th Commune / Sangkat Council election in 2022.;

The Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia (BAKC) disciplined Lawyer Choung Choungy by reprimanding him in writing over his interviews in January with a radio station named Radio France Internationale (RFI) in connection with the case of the Candlelight Party’s Vice-President Son Chhay.;
