Sar Kheng deputy of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) called on Muslims in Battambang province to continue supporting CPP at the 2022 commune council elections and the following year’s national elections. Hun Sen  urged his supporters to eat “the Khmer noodles of unity and solidarity” in response to members of the Supreme Court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) gathering to eat the popular dish as a form of protest.
