The President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Hun Sen, has pledged to elevate the close ties between Cambodia and Japan to new heights as he prepares to assume the role of Senate President.
The National Power Party (NPP) appealed to the Kampong Speu Provincial Court to drop the charges against Oum Virakrath, secretary general of the party, and release him from jail for taking part in an event held to commemorate the March 30, 1997 grenade attack in Phnom Penh.
