As per the preliminary results which came out, the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) won a landslide in the Senate Election, by winning more than 50 seats out of the total 58 seats.
In April, Cambodia’s former Prime Minister Hun Sen will return to frontline politics as the new president of the Senate. A former top military police official who was found guilty 15 years ago in an acid attack that disfigured a victim’s face has been appointed as an adviser to Hun Sen.
